AllerAir Airmedic Pro 6 Air Purifier – High-Capacity VOC, Odor & Allergen Filtration for Areas up to 2,000 Sq Ft
The AllerAir Airmedic Pro 6 is built for homes dealing with airborne chemicals, lingering odors, dust, pet dander, and allergy triggers in larger indoor spaces.
It combines a deep activated carbon filter, medical-grade HEPA filtration, and a pre-filter to reduce both gas-phase pollutants and fine airborne particles.
With up to 560 CFM of airflow and manufacturer-stated coverage for rooms up to 2,000 square feet, it’s a strong fit for larger bedrooms, living rooms, offices, and open single-room areas that need serious filtration capacity.
Why You’ll Love The AllerAir Airmedic Pro 6
Stronger odor and chemical control for larger rooms
The Pro 6 includes either a 17 lb Exec carbon filter or an 18 lb Vocarb carbon filter, giving it substantial carbon capacity for VOCs, fumes, smoke odors, and household chemical smells.
Relief from fine particles and common allergy triggers
Medical-grade HEPA filtration removes 99.97% of airborne particles at 0.3 microns, including dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and smoke particles.
More air movement for bigger indoor spaces
Up to 560 CFM moves a high volume of air through the filtration system, helping the unit cycle room air steadily in spaces up to 2,000 sq ft.
Adjustable performance for real home use
Variable speed control lets you balance airflow and sound, with noise levels from 39–60 dB — roughly from a quiet indoor setting to a noticeable fan sound.
Carbon options for different air quality problems
Choose Exec carbon for general air cleaning, or Vocarb carbon for higher VOC, chemical, fume, and odor concerns such as off-gassing from furniture, paint, or renovations.

What the AllerAir Airmedic Pro 6 Helps Remove
- Dust & fine particles — captured by HEPA filtration before they settle on surfaces
- Pollen & seasonal allergens — helps reduce airborne triggers that can worsen allergy discomfort
- Pet dander — captures tiny particles shed by cats and dogs
- Mold spores — helps reduce airborne spores circulating through indoor air
- Smoke particles & odors — HEPA captures particles while activated carbon reduces smoke smell
- VOCs & chemical fumes — activated carbon adsorbs gases from paint, flooring, furniture, cleaning products, and household materials
- Larger debris — the pre-filter captures larger particles first, helping protect the main filters
Key Features & Design Details
Deep-bed activated carbon filtration
The 2.5" activated carbon filter provides meaningful gas and odor reduction, especially for VOCs, smoke odors, and chemical exposure.
17 lb Exec or 18 lb Vocarb carbon canister
Exec is designed for standard air cleaning, while Vocarb is the better choice for heavier VOCs, fumes, chemicals, formaldehyde concerns, and odors.
Medical-grade HEPA filter
The HEPA filter removes 99.97% of airborne particles at 0.3 microns, helping capture dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and smoke particles.
Quick-change pre-filter
The pre-filter captures larger dust and debris before air reaches the main HEPA and carbon filters.
Optional UV lamp
A UV lamp is available as an add-on, though filtration remains the primary method for removing particles, gases, and odors.
Mounted on 4 x 2" wheels
The Pro 6 is a substantial purifier, and the built-in wheels make it easier to reposition within the room.
Bottom filter access
The pre-filter can be accessed from the bottom without tools, while the main filters are accessed from the bottom with screws.
Maintenance & Ownership
The Airmedic Pro 6 is designed for long-term filtration, but it does require regular filter maintenance.
- Pre-filter: Replace every 2–3 months
- HEPA filter: Typically replaced every 2–3 years
- Activated carbon filter: Typically replaced every 2–3 years, with a shelf life of up to 5 years
- UV-C lamp, if selected: 16,000 hours or 1 year
Filter access requires turning the unit off, unplugging it, and opening the bottom of the unit for main filter replacement.
For best results, AllerAir recommends placing the unit near the source of contaminants and keeping it running continuously on the lowest setting.
Some Pro 5/6 Plus, HD, and Ultra models may ship with filters in a separate box and require filter installation before first use.
