AllerAir Airmedic Pro 6 Plus Air Purifier – Heavy Carbon Filtration for VOCs, Odors, and Chemical Concerns
Strong odors, renovation fumes, smoke, and chemical sensitivity concerns often need more than a light-duty air purifier.
The AllerAir Airmedic Pro 6 Plus is built for larger indoor spaces where deeper carbon filtration is needed for gases, fumes, odors, and chemical pollutants.
Compared with the standard Airmedic Pro 6, the Pro 6 Plus adds a deeper 3" activated carbon filter and a larger carbon canister, making it the stronger choice when VOCs, smoke odors, and chemical filtration are the main concern.
Why You’ll Love The AllerAir Airmedic Pro 6 Plus
Heavy carbon capacity for VOCs and odors
The Pro 6 Plus includes 21–23 lbs of Exec Carbon or 22–24 lbs of Vocarb Carbon, giving airborne gases, fumes, and odors more carbon media contact than smaller purifier designs.
Advanced particle filtration for allergens and smoke particles
Super HEPA filtration removes 99.99% of airborne particles at 0.1 microns, including dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and fine smoke particles.
High airflow for larger rooms and active living spaces
560 CFM moves a substantial volume of air through the filtration system, helping the unit cycle air more effectively in larger single-room environments.
Adjustable comfort for daily operation
Variable speed control lets you balance filtration strength and sound, with a 39–60 dB noise range from quiet indoor operation to a stronger fan sound.
Carbon blend options for different pollutant concerns
Exec Carbon is suited for general air cleaning, while Vocarb Carbon is designed for heavier VOC, chemical, fume, and odor concerns.
Is the AllerAir Airmedic Pro 6 Plus Right for You?
✔ Ideal for larger rooms, offices, apartments, and living spaces up to 2,000 sq ft for VOCs, odors, fumes, or airborne particles
✔ A strong fit for homes dealing with renovation off-gassing, smoke odors, chemical sensitivity, or persistent household smells
✔ Helpful for pet owners managing dander, dust, and everyday allergens
✔ Better suited than smaller AllerAir models when airflow and heavier carbon capacity are priorities
What the AllerAir Airmedic Pro 6 Plus Helps Remove
- VOCs & chemical fumes — activated carbon adsorbs airborne chemicals from paint, furniture, flooring, cleaning products, and household materials
- Smoke particles & odors — Super HEPA captures fine smoke particles while carbon helps reduce lingering smoke smells
- Dust & airborne allergens — helps reduce pollen, dust, pet dander, and other fine particles circulating through the room
- Mold spores — captures airborne spores before they continue moving through indoor air
- Everyday household odors — helps reduce odors from pets, cooking, smoke, and indoor living spaces
Key Features & Design Details
3" deep-bed activated carbon filter
Provides substantial gas and odor filtration for VOCs, fumes, smoke odors, and chemical concerns.
21–24 lb carbon canister, depending on carbon blend
Large carbon capacity supports longer-term adsorption for homes with heavier odor or VOC concerns.
3,000 acres of carbon media surface area
The large internal surface area gives gas molecules more opportunity to bond to the carbon media as air passes through.
Super HEPA filtration
Removes 99.99% of airborne particles at 0.1 microns for fine particle control.
Easy-clean pre-filter
Captures larger debris before it reaches the main filters, helping protect airflow and extend filter life.
Larger cylindrical housing with wheels
Measures 23.5" high by 15" diameter and includes four 2" wheels for easier repositioning.
Optional UV lamp
UV-C germicidal light inside the unit for an additional layer of treatment
Maintenance & Ownership
The Airmedic Pro 6 Plus is designed for continuous long-term operation, but regular filter replacement is important for maintaining airflow and filtration performance.
- Pre-filter: Replace every 2–3 months
- Super HEPA filter: Typically replaced every 1–2 years
- Carbon filter: Typically replaced every 2–3 years depending on pollutant levels and usage
- UV-C lamp, if selected: Rated at 16,000 hours or about 1 year
The pre-filter can be accessed from the bottom without tools, while the main filters are accessed through the bottom panel with screws.
AllerAir recommends placing the unit near the source of contaminants and running it continuously on the lowest effective setting.
