The AllerAir Salon Pro 6 Plus is the everyday workhorse of the Salon Pro line, built to handle the chemical fumes and odors of a working salon. Its 3-foot Loc-Line modular capture hose lets you position intake right at the nail table or color station, so you pull fumes out of the air at the source, before they spread across the room.

It runs a 3-inch activated carbon bed holding 22 to 23 pounds of media for solvents, monomer, and odors, backed by a Super HEPA filter that captures particles down to 0.1 microns and a pre-filter sized for hair and nail dust. AllerAir lists airflow at 560 CFM. The hose brings the intake close to the workstation. This unit filters and recirculates air; it does not exhaust air outdoors.

Plan for ventilation as well as filtration. The Salon Pro recirculates filtered air into the room. It does not replace required outdoor exhaust, fresh-air ventilation or an exposure assessment. Check the requirements for your location and services before choosing equipment.

How the Salon Pro 6 Plus Compares: Salon Pro 6 Plus vs Salon Pro 6 Ultra

Both Salon Pro units share the same cabinet, the same manufacturer-listed 560 CFM airflow, the same Super HEPA particle filter, and the same 3-foot source-capture hose. They separate on one thing: how much carbon they carry. The Plus is the everyday salon workhorse. The Ultra carries the deepest carbon bed in the line, for the heaviest chemical, solvent, and odor loads.

Choose the Salon Pro 6 Plus when your fume and odor load is real but moderate, and you want the salon capture setup without paying for the deepest carbon bed. The Salon Pro 6 Ultra is worth the extra spend when the chemical load is heavy and constant, since its 5" carbon bed holds nearly twice the media for greater carbon capacity.

Choose by workstation layout, chemicals and workload rather than a promised whole-room coverage area. AllerAir lists 560 CFM; this is not verified CADR or measured hose airflow. Manufacturer-listed sound levels are 39–60 dB.

Is the AllerAir Salon Pro 6 Plus Right for You?

The Salon Pro 6 Plus is for working spaces where chemical fumes and odors are part of the job, and you want to grab them at the station before they fill the room.

It's an especially strong fit if you:

✔Run a nail salon and want to pull acetone, monomer, and dust straight off the table
✔Do hair color, bleach, or keratin and smoothing treatments that put fumes in the air
✔Want the salon capture setup at a more affordable price than the Ultra
✔Want supplemental workstation filtration alongside your salon’s ventilation
✔Want particle filtration and a substantial carbon bed in one portable unit

Great fit for:

✔Nail salons and spas
✔Hair salons doing regular color, bleach, or smoothing services
✔Tattoo and lash studios
✔Labs, print shops, and workshops with solvents and strong odors
✔Any station where fumes start in one spot and you want to capture them there

How the Salon Pro 6 Plus Filters Air

Particles & Dust (Super HEPA)

AllerAir specifies its Super HEPA filter at 99.99% efficiency for 0.1-micron particles. This is a filter specification, not a measured exposure reduction for your salon. The particle filter and pre-filter address airborne dust and particles, including:

  • Hair and nail dust, including filings from filing and buffing
  • Aerosolized product overspray from sprays and powders
  • Fine dust and combustion particles down to the ultrafine range
  • Pollen and mold spores, captured before they settle

Chemicals, Gases & Odors (Activated Carbon)

Before air reaches the HEPA, it passes through a 3-inch bed holding 22 to 23 pounds of activated carbon. Activated carbon is used for gas and odor adsorption. Its suitability depends on the compounds present, the carbon blend and operating conditions. Tell us which products you use so we can help confirm the appropriate media.

For formaldehyde, ammonia or another specific chemical concern, contact us before ordering to confirm the carbon configuration. A larger carbon bed alone does not establish suitability for every gas.

Key Design Features

3" Deep-Bed Activated Carbon
A 3-inch bed holding 22 to 23 pounds of media, enough carbon to handle everyday salon fumes and odors while it runs through a full day of appointments.

3-Foot Source-Capture Hose
A 3-foot Loc-Line modular hose with a 3-inch diameter lets you position intake right at the workstation, so you capture solvent and monomer fumes where they start instead of waiting for them to reach a purifier across the room.

Super HEPA + Salon Pre-Filter
AllerAir specifies Super HEPA particle filtration at 99.99% efficiency for 0.1-micron particles. The pre-filter catches larger particles before they reach the main filters.

560 CFM of Airflow
Manufacturer-listed airflow is 560 CFM. This is not a verified CADR or a guarantee of capture airflow through the hose. Contact us about placement and any available motor options.

Optional UV-C Germicidal Lamp
AllerAir offers an optional UV-C lamp. Carbon and particle filtration remain the core features; no quantified germ-removal or infection-prevention benefit is claimed here. Confirm UV availability and destination eligibility before ordering.

Steel Housing on Wheels
At 23.5 inches high and 15 inches across, the all-steel cabinet rolls on four 2-inch caster wheels, so you can move its 56-pound body between stations. Black finish. An 8-foot power cord gives you flexibility when positioning the unit near a workstation.

What’s Included & Initial Setup

  • Salon Pro air purifier
  • 3-foot Loc-Line modular source-capture hose
  • Activated carbon filter
  • Super HEPA filter
  • Pre-filter
  • User manual

Check filter installation before the first use. Follow the supplied manual to install any separately packed filters before switching the unit on. Follow the Salon Series manual for filter installation and hose attachment. Unplug the unit before installation or servicing, and move it by the cabinet rather than pulling on the hose.

Maintenance & Filter Life

The Salon Pro 6 Plus is built to run continuously in a working space, and keeping it effective comes down to a simple filter routine:

  • Pre-filter: check often and replace as it loads up with hair and dust, which keeps airflow up and protects the main filters
  • Super HEPA filter: replace when the particle load calls for it, ideally alongside the carbon
  • Carbon filter: follow a replacement plan appropriate to the chemicals, workload and manufacturer guidance; do not rely on odor alone
  • UV-C lamp (if fitted): replace roughly once a year

Filter life depends on workload, chemicals, humidity and maintenance. Follow the Salon Series manual and establish a replacement plan for your use. Odor returning can indicate a problem, but a lack of odor does not establish that the carbon is effective or that exposure is controlled. Follow the manual for filter access and servicing, and unplug the unit before opening it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the Salon Pro 6 Plus different from the Salon Pro 6 Ultra?

They use the same cabinet, the same manufacturer-listed 560 CFM airflow, the same Super HEPA, and the same 3-foot capture hose. The difference is carbon depth. The Plus carries a 3" bed with 22 to 23 pounds of carbon. The Salon Pro 6 Ultra carries a 5" bed with 38 to 40 pounds, nearly double. Choose the Plus for everyday salon fumes and odors, and the Ultra when the chemical load is heavy and constant and you want a larger carbon bed.

What's the capture hose for?

It's how the Salon Pro grabs fumes at the source. The 3-inch flexible hose is 3 feet long, so you can bring the intake right up to the nail table, the color bowl, or wherever the strongest fumes come from. Capture performance depends on hose placement, airflow and the task; keep the intake near the source and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Who is the Salon Pro 6 Plus for?

It is designed for salon workstations with localized fumes, odors and dust. Bring the hose intake close to the work area and use it alongside the salon’s ventilation.

Nail salons and technicians: supplemental filtration near a manicure workstation.
Hair salons: assess the chemicals in your services before selecting carbon media. Contact us about your products and setup.

AllerAir lists CARB certification on its product page. Confirm eligibility for your selected configuration before ordering for California.

Do I need the UV-C lamp?

For most salons, no. The Salon Pro does its real work through the carbon and Super HEPA filters, and those handle the dust, fumes, and odors on their own. An optional UV-C lamp is offered by AllerAir, but it isn't required for the unit to filter effectively. Confirm UV availability and destination eligibility before ordering.

Can it cover a bigger space?

There is no verified square-footage rating for these salon units. The hose is intended for placement near the work area; one unit should not be assumed to capture fumes from several stations. Contact us with your layout, services and existing ventilation before choosing a setup.

How loud is it?

The Salon Pro 6 Plus runs at 39 dB on its lowest speed and up to 60 dB on high. The variable-speed control lets you set it anywhere in between, so you can run it quietly during a quiet appointment or turn it up when the room is busy.

Does it produce ozone?

The Salon Pro 6 Plus uses pre-filtration, activated carbon and Super HEPA without an ionizer. AllerAir states that its units do not use ozone technology. Optional UV and California eligibility are configuration-specific; contact us before ordering for California.

What's the warranty?

The Salon Pro 6 Plus comes with AllerAir's 10-year limited warranty. That covers repair of defective components and labor for 5 years from delivery, plus an additional 5 years on parts. Expendable items like pre-filters and filters aren't covered, and the warranty is for the original purchaser. A return authorization number is required for warranty repairs.

Where do I get replacement filters?

Genuine AllerAir replacement filters for the Salon Pro 6 Plus are available through us. Contact us with your model and carbon configuration and we'll get you the pre-filter, Super HEPA, and carbon filter you need. In a busy salon, plan on changing them more often than a home would.

Is this a medical device?

No. The AllerAir Salon Pro 6 Plus is a commercial and residential air purifier for general indoor air quality. It's not a medical device and isn't intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.
