Airpura V714 Air Purifier (Super HEPA Wildfire, Smoke & VOC Defense for Large Spaces)
@ 0.3 microns
carbon bed
on high
The Airpura V714 is the large-space wildfire smoke and VOC purifier in the V-series. A Super HEPA 14 filter catches fine smoke particles, a deep bed of impregnated activated carbon takes out the burnt smell, VOCs, and gases, and a 635 CFM motor keeps a great room or whole level moving.
It's the same all-metal cabinet and carbon as the V700, with the particle filter upgraded for smoke season. It suits people who react to what they breathe: wildfire smoke, renovation off-gassing, fragrance intolerance, and multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS).
How the V714 Compares: V614 vs V700 vs V714
All three share the same 18 lb impregnated carbon, the same all-metal build, and the same Regular or Super Gas carbon choice. The V714 pairs the V700's 635 CFM motor with the V614's Super HEPA filter, so you get the bigger coverage and the finer particle filter in one unit.

Choose the V714 when wildfire smoke is the main reason you're buying and the space runs up to 2,500 sq ft. The V700 covers the same space for less if smoke is occasional and True HEPA is enough. For a single room under 2,000 sq ft, prefer the V614.
Not sure the V-series fits? If your only concern is everyday odors and allergens, the Airpura R700 covers that for less. For heavy, persistent chemical exposure like industrial fumes, severe MCS, or strong solvents, look at the C700 and its much larger carbon bed.
Coverage is based on two complete air exchanges per hour with 8-ft ceilings.
Is the Airpura V714 Right for You?
The V714 is for homes where smoke and chemicals get into the air, not just dust and pollen.
It's an especially strong fit if you:
✔ Live where wildfire smoke reaches your home most summers
✔ Want Super HEPA particle filtration for smoke season
✔ Are living with renovation off-gassing (new paint, flooring, cabinets, or furniture)
✔ Have chemical sensitivity (MCS) or fragrance intolerance
✔ Want both smoke-odor control and fine-particle capture in one unit
Great fit for:
✔ Great rooms, open floor plans, and open-concept main levels up to 2,500 sq ft
✔ Homes in wildfire-prone regions
✔ Newly renovated or newly furnished spaces
✔ Larger home offices and studios
✔ Anyone who wants clean air that actually smells clean
What the Airpura V714 Removes
Chemical & Odor Control (Impregnated Carbon)
The V714 leads with a 2-inch, 18 lb bed of enhanced impregnated activated carbon. This layer handles the gases and smells a HEPA filter can't catch:
- Smoke odor, the lingering burnt smell from wildfire and tobacco smoke
- Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from paint, adhesives, flooring, and furniture
- Chemical fumes from cleaning products, pesticides, and household materials
- Off-gassing from new renovations, cabinetry, and carpeting
Super HEPA 14 Particle Filtration (99.99% @ 0.3 Microns)
Behind the carbon, a 40 sq ft Super HEPA 14 filter captures the fine particles that travel with smoke and everyday air:
- Fine smoke particles, including wildfire smoke
- Dust and everyday household particles
- Pollen and pet dander
- Mold spores and other airborne biologicals
What 99.99% means in practice: at 0.3 microns, the hardest particle size to catch, Super HEPA lets through a third as many particles as standard True HEPA (1 in 10,000 instead of 3 in 10,000).
Key Design Features
High-Capacity Variable-Speed Motor
635 CFM for faster air cycling in large rooms. Turn it down for quiet overnight filtration, or run it higher during a smoke event.
Super HEPA 14 Filter
40 sq ft of Super HEPA media rated at 99.99% at 0.3 microns, compared with 99.97% for the standard True HEPA filter.
Deep 2″ Impregnated Carbon Bed
18 lb of enhanced impregnated carbon in a 2-inch bed. The extra depth gives the air more contact time, so the carbon captures more chemicals and VOCs on each pass.
Pressure-Sealed Filter Chamber
A pressure seal and felt gaskets force incoming air through the filters instead of around them, which keeps the Super HEPA rating meaningful in real use.
All-Metal Housing
Powder-coated steel with felt (not rubber) gaskets. No plastic or rubber off-gassing, which matters most in a unit built for chemical sensitivity.
360° Air Intake
The perforated steel exterior draws air evenly from all sides for balanced circulation.
Separately Changeable Filters
The prefilter, carbon, and Super HEPA filters replace on their own schedules, so you only buy the one that's due.
Regular or Super Gas? Choosing Your V714 Carbon
Every V714 ships with a chemical-grade impregnated carbon bed. The choice comes down to how heavy a chemical load you're filtering. You just pick the one you need. Either way, the Super HEPA filter stays the same.
Regular V700 (Potassium Iodide Impregnated)
- 18 lb enhanced carbon, a blend of potassium iodide and coconut shell. The potassium iodide speeds up how quickly the carbon binds and removes chemicals
- Well-suited for wildfire smoke, off-gassing from furniture or renovations, and everyday chemical exposure
Super Gas 700 (Potassium Permanganate)
- 18 lb impregnated carbon, a blend of potassium permanganate and coconut shell, which grabs the lighter gases standard carbon is slower on
- A better fit for strong or persistent chemical odors, heavy renovation exposure, or multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS)
Maintenance & Filter Life
The V714 has three filters, each on its own schedule:
- Prefilter: vacuum through the grille once a month; replace every 12 months
- Carbon filter: replace every 2 years
- Super HEPA filter: replace every 3 to 5 years, depending on use
Running it 24/7 on low is the simplest way to keep air quality steady, then turn it up when smoke rolls in. Keep indoor humidity near 40%, since very humid air slows the carbon down.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I get the V714 or the V700?
They're the same machine with one difference: the particle filter. The V700 uses True HEPA (99.97% at 0.3 microns) and the V714 uses Super HEPA 14 (99.99%). If wildfire smoke is the main reason you're buying, the V714 is worth the extra spend. If smoke is rare where you live, the V700 gives you the same coverage for less.
Should I get the V714 or the V614?
It comes down to the size of your space. Both use the same Super HEPA filter and carbon. The V714 covers up to 2,500 sq ft with its 635 CFM motor, so it suits great rooms and open floor plans. For a single room or bedroom under 2,000 sq ft, the V614 does the job for less.
Will the V714 actually clear wildfire smoke?
Yes, and it handles both parts of smoke. The Super HEPA filter captures the fine smoke particles, while the deep carbon bed adsorbs the burnt odor and VOCs a HEPA-only unit leaves behind. During a smoke event, close the windows and run it on a higher speed.
How is the V-series different from the R700 or the C-series?
All three use activated carbon, but the type and amount differ by job. The R700 is the everyday all-purpose unit for general odors and allergens. The V714 uses an impregnated carbon blend tuned for smoke, VOCs, and airborne chemicals. For the heaviest chemical exposure, like strong solvents, industrial fumes, or severe MCS, the C700 has a much larger carbon bed.
Where do I get replacement filters?
Your V714 takes the same prefilter and carbon as the V700, so you'll find everything on our V700 replacement filters page. Choose the Complete Set + Super HEPA when it's time for a full change, so you keep the 99.99% rating.
Does the V714 arrive assembled?
Yes. The V714 ships as a single assembled unit on casters, with no tools required. Unpack it, plug it in, run it on max for 30 minutes, then set your speed. See the User Manual for setup details.
What does the warranty cover?
The V714 comes with a 5-year parts and 10-year labor warranty, which outlasts the first several sets of filters. The unit is also ETL certified to UL 507.
Is this a medical device?
No. The Airpura V714 is a residential and commercial air purifier for general indoor air quality. It's not a medical device and isn't intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.
