The R700 filter system

• Prefilter — captures large particles, dust, hair, and lint so the deeper filters last longer. Replace every 3–6 months.
• Carbon filter — Airpura's coconut-shell activated carbon adsorbs odors, light chemicals, and gases. Typically lasts 2–4 years depending on use.
• HEPA filter — captures fine airborne particles, allergens, and dust down to 0.3 microns. Typically lasts 3–5 years.

A note on buying ahead: activated carbon slowly adsorbs odors and chemicals from the air around it even while sealed in storage. Order carbon filters when you're ready to install them rather than keeping spares on the shelf for years — carbon that has sat a long time won't have its full capacity left. Prefilters and HEPA filters aren't affected and are fine to keep on hand.
