Airpura V700 Air Purifier (Wildfire, Smoke & VOC Defense for Large Spaces)
carbon bed
@ 0.3 microns
on high
(up to)
The Airpura V700 is the large-space wildfire, smoke, and VOC purifier. It runs the same deep bed of impregnated activated carbon for VOCs, gases, and smoke odor, plus a sealed True HEPA filter for fine particles, but pairs them with a stronger 635 CFM motor that keeps a great room or whole level filtered, not just one bedroom.
It's built for people who react to what they breathe: wildfire smoke, renovation off-gassing, fragrance intolerance, and multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), in an all-metal, no-off-gassing build. Want a smaller room or heavier carbon? The V600 and the Super Gas option are compared below.
How the V700 Compares: V600 vs V700
The V-series is Airpura's line for wildfire smoke, VOCs, and chemical odors: carbon-first filtration with True HEPA for particles. The V600 and V700 use the same impregnated carbon, the same all-metal build, and the same Regular or Super Gas carbon choice. What changes is the size of space each one handles, since the V700 runs a stronger motor for larger, more open floor plans.

Choose the V700 for large, open spaces up to about 2,500 sq ft: great rooms, open floor plans, or a whole main level where a stronger motor keeps the air moving. The V600 is the better pick for a single room or bedroom under about 2,000 sq ft. Same filtration and carbon, lower price.
Not sure the V-series fits? If your only concern is everyday odors and allergens, the Airpura R700 covers that for less. If you're dealing with heavy, persistent chemical exposure like industrial fumes, severe MCS, or strong solvents, look at the C700 and its much larger carbon bed.
Coverage figures are estimates based on airflow and typical ceiling height. Actual performance varies by room.
Is the Airpura V700 Right for You?
The V700 suits large or open homes where the air carries chemicals or smoke, not just dust and pollen in one room.
It's an especially strong fit if you:
✔ Have wildfire smoke or urban air pollution getting into a large or open home
✔ Are living with renovation off-gassing (new paint, flooring, cabinets, or furniture)
✔ React to cleaning products, fragrances, or everyday chemical odors
✔ Have chemical sensitivity (MCS) or fragrance intolerance
✔ Want both odor and VOC control and True HEPA particle capture in one unit
Great fit for:
✔ Great rooms, open floor plans, and open-concept main levels up to about 2,500 sq ft
✔ Newly renovated or newly furnished spaces
✔ Homes in wildfire-prone regions
✔ Larger home offices, studios & work areas with equipment or material fumes
✔ Anyone who wants clean air that actually smells clean
What the Airpura V700 Removes
Chemical & Odor Control (Impregnated Carbon)
The V700 leads with a 2-inch, 18 lb bed of enhanced impregnated activated carbon. This is the layer that handles the gases and smells a HEPA filter can't catch:
- Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from paint, adhesives, flooring, and furniture
- Chemical fumes from cleaning products, pesticides, and household materials
- Smoke odor, the lingering burnt smell from wildfire and tobacco smoke
- Off-gassing from new renovations, cabinetry, and carpeting
True HEPA Particle Filtration (99.97% @ 0.3 Microns)
Behind the carbon, a sealed True HEPA filter captures the fine particles that travel with smoke and everyday air:
- Fine smoke particles, including wildfire smoke
- Dust and everyday household particles
- Pollen and pet dander
- Mold spores and other airborne biologicals
How it works: the carbon adsorbs gases, odors, and chemicals, while the True HEPA media traps 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns.
Key Design Features
High-Capacity Variable-Speed Motor
Up to 635 CFM for faster air cycling in large rooms. Turn it down for quiet overnight filtration, or up for maximum cleaning during a smoke event.
Deep 2″ Impregnated Carbon Bed
18 lb of enhanced impregnated carbon in a 2-inch bed. The extra depth gives the air more contact (dwell) time, so more chemicals and VOCs are captured on each pass.
Pressure-Sealed Filter Chamber
Airpura's pressure seal and felt gaskets force all incoming air through the filters instead of leaking around them, which is what keeps the 99.97% HEPA rating honest in real use.
All-Metal Housing
Powder-coated steel with felt (not rubber) gaskets and a separate electrical chamber. No plastic or rubber off-gassing, which matters most in a unit built for chemical sensitivity.
360° Air Intake
The perforated steel exterior draws air evenly from all sides for balanced circulation.
Separately Changeable Filters
The HEPA and carbon filters replace on their own schedules, so you only buy the one that's due.
Regular or Super Gas? Choosing Your V700 Carbon
Every V700 ships with a chemical-grade impregnated carbon bed. The choice is how heavy a chemical load you're filtering. You just pick the one you need.
Regular V700 (Potassium Iodide Impregnated)
- 18 lb enhanced carbon, a blend of potassium iodide and coconut shell. The potassium iodide speeds up how quickly the carbon binds and removes chemicals
- Well-suited for off-gassing from furniture or renovations, wildfire smoke, and everyday chemical exposure where odors or irritation are noticeable
Super Gas 700 (Potassium Permanganate)
- 18 lb impregnated carbon, a blend of potassium permanganate and coconut shell, which is quicker to grab the lighter gases standard carbon is slower on
- A better fit for strong or persistent chemical odors, heavy renovation exposure, or multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) where standard carbon may not be enough
Fighting one specific chemical? Airpura can blend carbon for over 4,000 named airborne chemicals. If you know what you're up against, contact us and we'll help you spec the right one.
Maintenance & Filter Life
Airpura builds for long service intervals with simple upkeep. The V700 has three filters, each on its own schedule:
- Prefilter: vacuum through the grille periodically; replace about every 12 months
- Carbon filter: replace about every 2 years
- HEPA filter: replace about every 3 to 5 years, depending on use
Running it continuously on low is the simplest way to keep air quality steady. It draws about 40 watts on low and 120 watts on high, roughly a household light bulb.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I get the V700 or the V600?
It comes down to the size of your space. Both use the same impregnated carbon, the same True HEPA filtration, and the same Regular or Super Gas carbon choice. The V700 is built for large, open areas up to about 2,500 sq ft, where its stronger 635 CFM motor keeps up. The V600 is the better value for a single room or bedroom under about 2,000 sq ft: same filtration, less motor, lower price.
Will the V700 actually clear wildfire smoke?
Yes, and it handles both parts of smoke that most purifiers only half-solve. The True HEPA filter captures the fine smoke particles down to 0.3 microns, while the deep carbon bed adsorbs the burnt odor and VOCs a HEPA-only unit leaves behind. Its higher airflow helps it keep up in large, open spaces during a smoke event. Run it on a higher speed and keep the windows closed for best results.
How is the V-series different from the R700 or the C-series?
All three use activated carbon, but the type and amount differ by job. The R700 is the everyday all-purpose unit for general odors and allergens. The V700 uses an impregnated carbon blend tuned for VOCs, smoke, and airborne chemicals. For the heaviest, most persistent chemical exposure, like strong solvents, industrial fumes, or severe MCS, the C700 has a much larger dedicated carbon bed.
How much are replacement filters, and where do I get them?
Genuine V700 replacement filters are available right here at Pure Indoor Living, starting at $69.98. The prefilter, carbon, and HEPA replace on different schedules, so you only buy the one that's due rather than a full set each time.
Does the V700 produce ozone?
No. The V700 cleans air by mechanical filtration only: carbon adsorption plus True HEPA. There's no ionizer and no ozone-generating process, which is what you want in a unit made for chemically sensitive households.
Does the V700 arrive assembled?
Yes. The V700 ships as a single assembled unit on casters, with no tools or assembly required. Unpack it, plug it in, and choose your speed. See the User Manual for setup details.
What does the warranty cover?
The V700 is backed by Airpura's 5-year parts and 10-year labor warranty, which outlasts the first several sets of filters. The unit is also ETL certified to ANSI/UL 507.
Is this a medical device?
No. The Airpura V700 is a residential and commercial air purifier for general indoor air quality. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.
