The Airpura I600 HEPA Air Purifier is a high-airflow, HEPA-focused purifier built to pull airborne allergens and fine particles out of larger rooms — pollen, dust, pet dander, mold spores, and smoke particles that keep you sneezing and settling on every surface.

It uses a large, sealed True HEPA filter with close-ended metal caps and Airpura's pressure-seal chamber, so air is forced through the filter instead of leaking around it. That's the difference between a clinical-grade HEPA rating and a number on a box.

Originally engineered for healthcare clinics and institutions, the I600 brings that same all-metal, particle-abatement build into the home — sized for bedrooms, living rooms, open-concept spaces, and wellness environments.

Need an extra layer for germs and airborne pathogens? The I600 offers an optional UV germicidal upgrade (details below) for spaces where sanitation is a higher priority.

How the I600 Compares: I600 vs I700

The I-series is Airpura's HEPA-focused line — particle and allergen filtration first. Both units share the same sealed, metal-capped True HEPA design, all-metal build, no-ozone operation, and the same optional UV upgrade. What the I700 adds is stronger airflow and the option to fit a carbon filter for light odors and VOCs.

Choose the I600 for clean, high-airflow HEPA filtration in rooms up to ~2,000 sq ft where allergens and fine particles are the concern.
The I700 is the better call if you want more airflow and the ability to add a carbon filter for light odors and airborne chemicals.

Dealing with real odors, smoke smell, or chemical fumes? A HEPA-only unit won't remove those. Look at the Airpura R600 (18 lb activated carbon as standard) or the C600 DLX (very large carbon bed for heavy chemical & VOC exposure).

Coverage is Airpura's rating, based on a complete air exchange roughly every 30 minutes.

Is the Airpura I600 Right for You?

The Airpura I600 is designed for people whose main concern is airborne allergens and fine particles in a larger space.

It works especially well if you:

✔ Struggle with seasonal allergies from pollen or dust
✔ Notice irritation from pet dander in the air
✔ Want strong particle capture for smoke particles, including wildfire smoke
✔ Are concerned about mold spores circulating indoors
✔ Need coverage for a large room up to ~2,000 sq ft

Great fit for:

Bedrooms where easier breathing and better sleep matter
Living rooms & open-concept spaces
Homes with pets
Clinics & wellness environments
✔ Anywhere particle filtration is the priority over odor control

What the Airpura I600 Removes

True HEPA Particle Filtration (99.97% @ 0.3 Microns)

  • Pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds
  • Dust and everyday household particles
  • Pet dander from cats and dogs
  • Mold spores
  • Smoke particles
  • Airborne droplets

The I600 carries over 100 sq ft of True HEPA media in a 3-inch-deep, warm-rolled filter with close-ended metal caps — built to capture microscopic particles down to 0.3 microns without letting air bypass the filter.

Note: the I600 is HEPA-focused and does not include an activated-carbon filter, so it isn't designed to remove odors, smoke smell, or chemical fumes. If that's a concern, see the I700 (optional carbon) or the R600 (carbon as standard).

Key Design Features

Sealed, Metal-Capped True HEPA Filter
Close-ended metal caps and Airpura's pressure seal ensure incoming air passes fully through the HEPA media instead of leaking around it.

360° Air Intake
The perforated steel housing draws air evenly from all sides of the room for balanced circulation.

Motor Positioned Outside the Airflow Path
Clean, filtered air isn't blown back over the motor — so it can't pick up fresh impurities on the way out.

Backward-Curved Motorized Impeller
Reduces the vibration and noise associated with older motor-and-shaft designs.

Variable-Speed Motor
Dial airflow from quiet, continuous background filtration up to maximum cleaning when you need it.

All-Metal Housing with Felt Gaskets
Powder-coated steel with felt (not rubber) gaskets — no plastic or rubber off-gassing, plus long-term durability.

With UV or Without UV? Choosing Your I600

Every I600 is, first and foremost, a True HEPA particle purifier. The UV option adds a second layer of air treatment on top of filtration — here's how to decide.

I600 Without UV (Standard)

  • True HEPA filtration only — captures 99.97% of airborne particles at 0.3 microns
  • Removes dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and smoke particles

The right choice for most homes dealing with allergies, pets, dust buildup, or general air quality — where particle filtration is all you need.

I600 With Optional UV Germicidal Lamp

  • True HEPA filtration + a 20-watt UV germicidal lamp
  • Paired with a TitanClean™ titanium-dioxide (TiO₂) coating that works with the UV light to help break down certain airborne chemicals and microorganisms

Often chosen for medical or wellness clinics, spaces where air sanitation is a higher priority, or households that want an added layer of protection alongside HEPA. Add it if pathogen and antigen reduction — not just particle capture — is part of what you're solving for.

Maintenance & Filter Life

Airpura builds for long operating cycles with simple upkeep. Because the I600 is HEPA-focused, there are only two filters to think about:

  • Prefilter: vacuum through the grille monthly; replace approximately every 12 months
  • HEPA filter: replace approximately every 3–5 years, depending on use

If you choose the UV option, the germicidal lamp is a periodic-replacement item — check the User Manual or reach out and we'll confirm the schedule for your unit.

Running the purifier continuously at a lower speed is typically the most efficient way to maintain clean air. Energy use runs about 40 watts on low and 120 watts on high — roughly a standard household light bulb.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I get the I600 or the I700?

Both cover rooms up to ~2,000 sq ft with the same sealed True HEPA filtration and the same optional UV upgrade. Choose the I600 for straightforward HEPA particle and allergy relief. The I700 is worth the extra spend if you want more airflow (635 CFM vs 560) and the option to add a carbon filter for light odors and airborne chemicals — something the I600 doesn't offer.

Do I need the UV option?

For most homes, no — the standard I600's True HEPA filter already captures 99.97% of airborne particles, which is what allergy and dust sufferers are usually after. Add the UV germicidal lamp if reducing airborne germs and pathogens is a priority: it's most relevant for clinics, wellness spaces, or households that want an extra layer of air sanitation beyond particle capture. The UV works alongside a TitanClean™ coating to help break down certain microorganisms and airborne chemicals.

Will the I600 remove odors, smoke smell, or chemical fumes?

Not on its own. The I600 is HEPA-focused and has no activated-carbon filter, so it captures particles — including the solid particles in smoke — but doesn't adsorb gases, odors, or VOCs. If odor and chemical control matter, look at the I700 (optional carbon), the R600 (18 lb carbon standard), or the C600 DLX for heavy chemical exposure.

How much are replacement filters, and where do I get them?

Genuine I600 replacement filters are available right here at Pure Indoor Living, starting at $69.98. Since the prefilter and HEPA replace independently — and on very different schedules — you only buy the filter that's actually due.

Is it quiet enough for a bedroom?

Yes. On low, the I600 measures about 28.1 dB — close to a quiet library or a whisper — so it's comfortable to run overnight. The high setting moves the most air (560 CFM) and is more audible, so many people run it on low while sleeping and step it up during the day.

Does the I600 produce ozone?

No. The I600 cleans air through mechanical True HEPA filtration — there's no ionizer and no ozone-generating cleaning method. The optional UV upgrade is an enclosed germicidal lamp used with the TitanClean™ coating, not an ionizer.

Does the I600 arrive assembled?

Yes. The I600 ships as a single assembled unit on lockable casters — no tools or assembly required. Unpack it, plug it in, and choose your speed. Airpura recommends running it on medium-to-high for the first 48 hours. See the User Manual for setup.

What does the warranty cover?

The I600 is backed by Airpura's 5-year parts and 10-year labor warranty — coverage that outlasts the first several sets of filters. The unit is also ETL certified to ANSI/UL 507.

Is this a medical device?

No. The Airpura I600 is a residential and commercial air purifier for general indoor air quality. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.
